 Pav Bhaji 


This is the greatest pav bhaji recipe simple and easy to make it. This is a really low-cost recipe that you can prepare at home using things you already have. You must follow the pav bhaji ingredients list which are given below, cook and serve this pav buns.


 Ingredients 


 Pao Bhaji Spice Mix (Prepared) 


  • 1 star anise
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 8-10 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 button red chilies
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 piece nutmeg
  • 1 piece mace
  • 2 tsp black salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 & 1/2 dried mango powder

 Chili Paste (Prepared) 


  • 6-7 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece garlic
  • 2 soaked Kashmiri red chilies 
  • 2 tsp water or as required

 Cooked Vegetables (Prepared) 


  • 1/2 cup cauliflower chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup capsicums chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots chopped
  • 2 medium size tomatoes chopped
  • 1 & 1/2 cup water or as required
  • 250g boiled potatoes chopped

  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 & 1/2 or to taste pav bhaji spice mix
  • Chili paste to taste
  • 2 tsp butter

 Pav Bhaji (Prepared) 


  • 1 tsp oil
  • 3-5 tsp butter
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 medium size onion chopped
  • Chili paste to taste
  • Pav bhaji spice mix to taste
  • Cooked vegetables 
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice 

 Instruction 


  • For preparation of pao bhaji spice mix, in a fry pen add one star anise, one black cardamom, 6 to 7 clove pieces, one cinnamon stick, 5 to 6 button red chilies, one tsp of black peppercorns, two tsp of coriander seeds, two tsp of cumin seeds, half tsp of fennel seeds, half piece of nutmeg and one piece of mace roast them well until fragrant.
  • Let it cool, then take a grinder add them and grind well. 
  • After grinding add two tsp of black salt, one tsp of turmeric powder, one and half tsp of dried mango powder and again grind them until coarse powder, pao bhaji spice mix is ready set aside. 
  • To prepare the chili paste, place seven garlic cloves, an inch slice of garlic, two soaked Kashmiri red chilies, two tsp of water, or as needed, in a grinder, and ground until a paste is formed. Once the paste is finished, set it aside.
  • In a deep pot, combine one and a half cups chopped cauliflower, peas, capsicums, and carrots to prepare the cooked veggies. Mix thoroughly after adding three medium-sized diced tomatoes and one and a half cups of water, or more if necessary. Bring to a boil. Cook, covered, for at least 15 to 20 minutes over medium-low heat. 
  • After boiling, add 250 grams of boiled and cooked potatoes, one and half tsp of salt or to taste, one and half tsp of prepared pao bhaji spice mix or to taste, add prepared chili paste to taste mash them well then add two tsp of butter, mash again and cook for maximum 5 minutes. Cooked vegetables are ready set aside. 
  • For preparation of pav bhaji, in the cooked vegetables fry pen add one tsp of oil, 3 to 4 tsp of butter and let it melt. After melting butter add one tsp of cumin seeds, one medium size chopped onion and fry them until it translucent. Then add remaining chili paste and pav bhaji spice mix to taste and mix well. Add cooked vegetables in it and mix well. Then add one tsp of dried fenugreek leaves, one tsp of lemon juice again mix well. For the final step add one tsp of butter and cook on low flame for at least 2 to 3 minutes. Once done set aside.
