 Ingredients 


  • Basmati Rice 750g
  • Water as required
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 2 large Pyaz (Onion) sliced
  • 1 badiyan ka phool (Star anise) 
  • 4-5 laung (Cloves) 
  • 10-12 sabut kali mirch (Black peppercorns)
  • 2 darchini (Cinnamon sticks) 
  • 1 tsp zeera (Cumin seeds)
  • 1nBadi elaichi (Black cardamom) 
  • 1/2 tsp Lehsan (Garlic) crushed
  • 1/2 tsp adrak (Ginger) crushed
  • 600g hand chopped beef qeema (Mince)
  • 1 large tamatar (Tomato) sliced
  • 1 tsp hari mirch (Green chili) crushed
  • 1 tsp zeera powder (Cumin powder) 
  • 1/2 tsp or to taste salt
  • 1/2 tsp lal mirch (Red chili) crushed
  • 1 tsp dhania powder (Coriander powder)
  • 1/4 tsp Jaifil powder (Nutmeg powder)
  • 4 cups water or as required
  • 3-4 hari mirch (Green chilies)


 Instructions 



  • In a dish, combine the rice and water, wash well, and let soak for at least 30 minutes. Then, strain and leave aside.
  • Pour put cooking oil into a pot and heat it.
  • Chop the onions, then add them and cook until they turn golden brown. Take half of it out and set aside for a garnish.
  • Add the star anise, cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds, black cardamom, garlic, and ginger paste to the remaining sautéed onions and stir gently for one minute.
  • The meat should then be added coarsely chopped and stirred until it changes color.

  • Meanwhile, combine the tomato, crushed red chili, pink salt, green chili, coriander, nutmeg, and cumin powders. To allow the oil to separate, mix well, cover, and simmer over very low heat for 8 to 10 minutes. Then, increase the heat to high.
  • Add water and heat until it boils.
  • Add soaked rice, stir thoroughly, and simmer over medium heat until only ½ cup water remains.
  • Add the green chilies, cover with a kitchen towel, and steam simmer for ten to twelve minutes on a low heat.
  • Serve with yogurt raita and fried onion as a garnish.
